A very old, tried and true method of printing images onto materials started by the Chinese thousands of years ago. Believe it or not, other than technological advancements the process hasn't changed much since.
When screen printing apparel, there are 3 main tools used to print the image or design: a screen, ink, and a squeegee.
A screen is a frame with woven mesh tightly stretched over it and is coated with a light-sensitive chemical called emulsion.
The artwork is converted to an all-black image on a computer and printed onto a transparent film. The film is attached to the coated screen and is exposed to ultraviolet light. This causes the emulsion that is not covered by the areas of your design to harden. The area that IS covered by the design remains soft.
This allows the uncured areas of the design to be "blown out" with water at high-pressure, which creates the stencil that will be used for printing the ink onto the shirt using a rubber squeegee.
Each color to be printed in a multiple color design will require its own designated screen, ink color and squeegee.
Screen print pricing is contingent on four main factors:
- Quantity of shirts to be printed
- Number of ink colors in the design
- Number of print locations (front, back, both, etc)
- Shirt type and material to be printed on
Every order is different, and the most accurate price can be given with a individualized quote based on those four factors. Go to Need a Quote complete the form and we will get back to you.
If your order has not yet entered production, we can cancel your order. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel.
Most orders are typically printed and delivered within 2 weeks of order approval (invoice, size quantities, & artwork are approved). Sometimes it is possible to have the order ready sooner if our schedule allows and we can ship in the needed blank garments from our vendors in a timely manner.
Our current presses are capable of printing up to 4 spot colors. However, we can also print using halftones that simulate color gradients and shading which makes your design look like it has many more colors.
Mainly 100% Cotton and Cotton/Polyester blend tee shirts. However, our vendors carry a lot of different brands, styles, fits, colors and more! Just give us an idea of what you're looking for and we can make recommendations based on that.
Yes, we print on Dri-Fit style, 100% polyester garments, but do not print on spandex or nylon type apparel.
We can screen print shirts, hoodies, leggings, sweats, can coozies, cardboard boxes and more! If there's something specific you'd like screen printed, don't hesitate to ask!
Our shop uses plastisol ink. Plastisol is industry standard and most versatile. It's made with PVC and lays on top of the garment material when printed, which allows for the brightest colors and can be printed on most any garment type
